There are times throughout your life when you experience a remarkable sexual encounter. You can’t forget it. It was either a personal or observed first. Your heart and mind were in the encounter as were your partners. Taking It All In is a collection of 9 vignettes of truly amazing and different first time sexual experiences. Maybe it was your first time being tied up, or enjoying toys with your spouse or lover for the first time, or the special memory of losing your virginity with your first love. Maybe it was living out a one time secret fantasy of a ménage, or an encounter with the same sex. Or the first time you made love to someone you had known for a very long time but hadn’t realized how specially made they were for you. I was blown away by this collection of encounters and I can’t say enough about how unbelievable of an experience it was to read. The writer, Dalton, takes us along with him as he presents the encounters in a very sexual yet loving and heartfelt way. This was a unique experience for me because it is the first time I have read something of this nature written by a man and in first person, and I LOVED it. The male perspective that was presented came across as very genuine and honest. Exploring the questions of male and female sexuality while worshiping and loving the female. I was amazed at the level of honesty and awe that came from the male perspective, especially in Elly’s Bedroom, the vignette where he loses his virginity to the girl he has loved for over a year. He remembers everything from how beautiful she looked to the music playing in the background. The writer grabbed my heart with his words. Then more raw honesty in Eric the Teacher, where two, very women loving male roommates experience an innocent bisexual relationship for the first time. Most of the vignettes are more than just hot steamy explicitly described sex scenes, though the hotness rating is off the charts. Do be aware that there is a great deal of kinkiness, and some things that might be objectionable. I found myself not quite sure towards the end of the first vignette during the scene in the shower, a little too much for me, yet I had to admit it was all presented in the most loving of ways. The writer, I felt, showed the encounter as a total symbolic openness of each partner to other, which made it easier to understand. I recommend approaching this with a wide-open mind and truly hearing the participant’s honesty in the beauty of first time experiences. Taking It All In is an incredibly hot steamy read. Its uniqueness makes it a standout for me, and one where I will be talking about and rereading several of the vignettes from time to time over again. Releasing on July 28, 2008, Taking It All In by Dalton at Lyrical Press.
