Although
they’ve long been attracted to each other, neither Beth nor Charles have ever
admitted it, much less acted on it. But everything changes for them in Bhamjran,
where humans freely mix with the Yamish demons, and the sexual mores of society
are decidedly less strict than Beth’s hometown.
Once the irresistible Prince Pahndir sets eyes on Beth and Charles, he feels a
stirring in his loins he never imagined he would again since the tragic death of
his mate years earlier. Even his years in sexual slavery never excited him as
much as this pair of young humans do. Dare he hope that one of them just might
be a second mate for him?
But Pahndir’s enemies are determined to destroy him, and the outcast prince may
not live long enough to find love with Beth and Charles.
Once again, Emma Holly immerses her fans in a decadent world of pleasure and
intrigue bound to induce fever-like temperatures in readers! With the third
book in her TALES OF THE DEMON WORLD series, we experience the
thrill of pure love without boundaries. DEMON’S FIRE is a story of
love that transcends both race and gender, as well as societal expectations.
Pahndir is a somewhat tragic hero, one who has long ago resigned himself to a
lonely life without his own family, and few people who he can trust. Betrayed
by his family, he has no one and nothing except for his business, a brothel in
the city of Bhamjran. Watching as his encounters with Charles and Beth breed an
unexpected hope deep inside him is absolutely heartening.
Charles is drawn to the wicked sensual satisfaction that Pahndir and his brothel
offers, but he fears what he believes is unacceptable sexuality, and worries
over what he perceives as his own depravity. The love of the two people who
mean the most to him proves powerful enough to alleviate his most deep-set
concerns, allowing him to open up and accept a family of his own for the first
time in his life.
Although sexually innocent, Beth is the catalyst that brings this trio together
in the end. It is her boldness, her desire for both men that finally quell the
doubts both men have regarding their strange relationship. Of course, the
strange changes she has been undergoing since her experience in Queen Tou’s
chambers, recently discovered in an archaeological dig, just might have given
her a little push.
DEMON’S FIRE is rampant with the wild sexuality that fans of Emma
Holly’s work crave. The love scenes will make anyone hot under the collar, and
I daresay those lucky enough to have a significant other handy when they read
this book will give their love one a night to remember after reading some of
them! Underneath it all, however, there is a wonderful story of unconventional
love that will warm the heart as surely as the love scenes warm other parts…
