Melanie and Kurt have been attracted to each other for years – ever since they
first met, actually. But they haven’t acted on that desire, nor do they intend
to.
See, they are related. Sort of. Melanie’s mother married Kurt’s father,
thereby making Melanie and Kurt reluctant step-siblings. Only thing is, what
they feel for each other is nothing close to sibling love.
When Kurt accompanies Melanie to a photo shoot, he is drafted to participate
when they need a male model. What neither Melanie nor Kurt realized, however,
was that this particular shoot is for an erotic exercise book!
Between the nudity and the suggestive poses, the desire threatens to break their
control once and for all. Can they make it through the entire shoot without
giving in? Even more importantly, can they ever go back to the platonic
relationship they once shared?
Grab a bucket of cold water to keep near when you read PICTURE PERFECT
by Evangeline Anderson – you are so going to need it! This once had my own
temperature climbing to heights I am sure would worry my doctor to pieces. The
way these characters unintentionally tease each other throughout the story had
me squirming in my seat much the same way they were squirming themselves.
The heat between Kurt and Melanie practically set the pages ablaze as I read
this story. After years of denying their feelings, being forced into a
situation where they must touch each other not just intimately, but suggestively
breaks through every defense they’ve been able to muster over the years.
Even still, they are both so cautious of each other during the entire episode,
neither wanting to upset the other as they become more and more intimate. The
love between them is absolutely palpable, but still they hold back out of
respect for their parents and a fear of hurting each other.
Of course, this wouldn’t be a romance without a happy ending, and when Melanie
and Kurt finally do let themselves go, the resulting passion would rival any
fireworks display with the sparks that fry. No less intense for its brevity,
PICTURE PERFECT is right up there with Evangeline Anderson’s most
memorably stories, in my opinion.
