As a Dream Wreaker, Cael Oneiros has a responsibility to his human charges to
keep their emotions balanced by helping them to dream at night. Without dreams,
sleep is never restful and the human mind becomes unstable, threatening the
person’s very sanity.
Cael takes his duty very seriously. But now something has changed – one of his
human charges has found her way into the Dream Realm. That’s bad enough, but it
just happens to be the very woman guaranteed to drive him to distraction. The
lovely Devon Bradshaw is everything Cael could want in a woman.
Only problem is, spending time with Devon in the dream realm means at least some
of his other charges are left without the dreams necessary to keep them
balanced.
Now the city is running amok with dreamless humans on the verge of lunacy,
Devon’s budding powers are growing although she is unaware of the fact she is a
witch, and Cael must find a way to restore everything to normal. Easier said
than done – especially considering the powerful love spell Devon cast on him…
I’m a new fan of Kimberly Dean’s, having read both of her DREAM WREAKERS
books so far. Of course, I read them in backwards order, which actually was not
an issue at all. Whenever possible, I like to read series books in order, but I
can tell you that these books work very well as standalone novels.
There are quite a few Oneiros brothers, a fact which pleases me to no end since
I am hopeful for numerous sequels in this series. Although WHAT SHE WANTS
AT MIDNIGHT is the love story of Cael and Devon, we get to meet a few of
Cael’s brothers and find them to be just as noble and likable as our hero.
And Cael is definitely likable. Scratch that, he is out and out loveable.
LUST-able, even. Night-owl though I am, if I thought I could have erotic dreams
starring a man like him, I would be hitting the sack a few hours earlier every
night! There is just nothing wrong with this guy. He’s sweet, caring, loyal,
and definitely hot!
Devon is wonderful for him. She is spunky, sweet and empathic, a combination
that is enticing to Cael on a personal level, but also allows her to understand
his job as a DREAM WREAKER – a big requirement for any woman
entering into a long-term relationship with an Onerois.
WHAT SHE WANTS AT MIDNIGHT is an emotional ride full of sex appeal
and charm. I highly recommend this book to readers who enjoy paranormal
romance.
