There is a leak at Sanctuary. Top-secret information is finding its way into
the enemy’s hands all too frequently. It is Ria Rodriguez’s job to stop it.
Posing as an auditor, she uses her position to track the unknown traitor in
hopes of trapping him or her. The mission should be easy for someone with Ria’s
skills, but she never counted on finding herself the focus of one sexy Breed
male’s attention while at Sanctuary.
Mercury’s mate died tragically years ago. A Breed only has one mate, so why
does he feel this irresistible pull to Ria Rodriguez? If he didn’t know better
he would say it was the beginning of Mating Heat…
For years, fans of Lora Leigh’s popular THE BREEDS series have
known that beloved Enforcer Mercury’s mate died years earlier in the labs where
they were created and held captive. Knowing he was doomed to a life without a
mate of his own, our hearts have bled for him.
So how does he have his own story? Ah, that would be one major spoiler, but
suffice it to say that the author found a way to write his story in a way that
is more than satisfying and very believable. Oh yeah, and it came with quite a
few “Omigosh!” moments along the way too. *grin*
I’d be pretty darn jealous of Ria if I didn’t like her so much. This heroine is
just what Mercury needs. She’s strong, capable, sexy, and has a knack for
pressing his buttons.
Mercury is just as perfect a complement for Ria. His relentless sexuality
brings Ria out of her safe little shell and forces her to embrace the woman
inside herself.
The story definitely belongs to Mercury and Ria, but Lora Leigh drops some
tidbits about other characters along the way, revealing some long-buried secrets
that will have readers salivating for those characters’ stories.
MERCURY’S WAR is an emotionally-charged love story full of action,
suspense, and some scorching sex scenes worthy of THE BREEDS
series.
