When a
key witness to a major criminal trial disappears, Detective Cameron Martinez and
Bounty Hunter R.A. Thorn team up to find him and bring him in. Their search
takes them to Curtis’s secret love nest, where they find the beautiful and
mysterious Brenna. She claims to be his mistress, but Cam and Thorn aren’t so
sure. They are, however, determined to uncover Brenna’s secrets, no matter the
lengths to which they have to go to get them.
DANGEROUS BOYS AND THEIR TOY marks Shayla Black’s first foray into
the eBook market under this pen name. Based on this author’s past work, I had
high expectations for this story, and I was not disappointed in any way.
Instead, Shayla Black managed to surprise me as much as she delighted me with
this new romance, forging a new path in her writing career as she delves into
some very new territory for her.
With her new romantic trio, Ms. Black explores the birth of a ménage
relationship with three people who’d not previously indulged in such play. What
begins as Thorn’s seduction of Brenna quickly evolves to include Cam as well.
For Brenna needs both Thorn’s sexy wickedness and Cam’s romantic sensitivity to
completely satisfy her, both physically and emotionally.
Thorn and Brenna both bring issues to the budding relationship. Thorn is afraid
to commit, and Brenna is fearful of being left. Both need Cam’s steadfast
nature to break down their defenses and allow them to open themselves to the
possibility of love. Cam’s intuitive understanding of what each of them needs
makes him an integral part of this ménage, but it is the combination of all
three that really sparks this romance. As Cam, Thorn, and Brenna begin their
sensual experimentation, it will definitely make readers’ own temperatures heat
up a bit!
When danger threatens Brenna, the emotion really ramps up, with both Cam and
Thorn forced to face the feelings that have already grown for their lovely
charge even though they’ve known each other very briefly.
But the heart wants what it wants, and each of them is quick to realize that
what they can have together is something that doesn’t come along but once in a
lifetime. None of them is willing to risk losing forever once they’ve had a
taste of it.
DANGEROUS BOYS AND THEIR TOY is brimming with the kind of
unrestrained passion readers have come to expect in any Shayla Black title. In
this story, that passion crosses all boundaries, with love that is ignorant of
gender as Cam, Thorn and Brenna come together ins ways that titillate while
still warming the very cockles of your heart. |
