SEQ CHAPTER \h \r 1What's a girl to do? Engaged to be married, full-figured Niccy had resigned herself to a lackluster marriage both in and out of bed. Just once she wanted to experience passion the same way the heroine of one of her favorite books did...tied to the bedpost and pleasured by two men. But the two hottest men at Del Fantasma were already mated...to one another. I’m a big fan of the Del Fantasma collection of stories. A number of different authors contribute and all of the stories proceed from the same premise – Cody, the owner of a bar called Del Fantasma, plays matchmaker. He sets people up by giving the hero or heroine a special drink. The drink predicts what each person wants. Sex on the Beach, a Screaming Orgasm, you get the idea. Niccy wants to be tied up in bed and pleasured by two men and she goes to Cody for help with her fantasy. It sounded like a good idea to me. I liked Niccy and the fact that she was willing to take a leap of faith to get what she wanted, in spite of her shyness and insecurity. I liked Chris and Ian too. I could see how they could end up together and why they would still be working out all the hinks. These are people I’d like to hang out with over a drink. Never mind what I’d order … I wanted their story to be as likeable as the characters. Unfortunately, there are several story lines going on, but they weren’t tied together. Niccy is bored by her fiancé, but rather than end the relationship she decides to have a threesome on the side and get it out of her system. That doesn’t work so well. The two men she is supposed to have a relationship with are newly mated to each other and she’s not sure there’s room for her. I could understand her concern – they are all good friends and she didn’t get any indication that Ian and Chris were interested in having her join them. They are still at the stage of working out their own problems. Then, quick time switch and, things change completely and they are all together. The abruptness of the changes between the parts of the story left me scratching my head, trying to figure out what just happened. I’m glad they got their HEA. I just wish the story had hung together better. |
