Pediatrician Kristen Johansen loves her aged, finicky car. And she only takes it one mechanic – Joe. And, as an added bonus, Joe is handsome and tattooed and all man. Well, sort of. Then, one night after dropping her car off, Kristen is raped – for her blood. She is attacked by a rogue vampire and becomes addicted to vampire venom. She finds a solution for that addiction, but she doesn’t much like it. Not until the solution drops her into Joe’s arms and into his bed. Joe is ready to feed all of her hungers and to champion her on a search for a cure. The question is whether the cure is worse than the disease. For both Kristen and Joe. KRISTEN’S ADDICTION is one of the most passionate books I’ve read in a long time. Not just the sex – though of course that’s smoking. The passion comes from the feelings that Kristen and Joe have for each other, the things that separate them and, ultimately, the love that brings them back together. Kristen is soft and gentle. Her patients adore her. Too bad she doesn’t adore herself. She focuses on her plus sized body, rather than her own innate beauty. If she paid attention, she’d know that both women and men want her. And yes, Joe wants her bad. Joe is a man from another age, with a deeply ingrained value system. He thinks Kristen is beautiful and he makes her feel that way despite the fact that she’s dropped into a number of different situations where, given a choice, she’d hide. I haven’t read many of Evangeline Anderson’s books. But, after reading this story, I want more. So, if you don’t see me for a while, I’m off feeding my own new addiction!
