In this latest edition of the CALENDAR GIRLS series, we meet Mindy Walters and Cash McLaren.  Mindy does what every one of us has wanted to do on at least one occasion:  inconvenience the person who calls a wrong number and inconveniences us.  When Cash calls her by accident, she keeps him talking and, in that single phone call, sparks his interest in meeting her and making her MISS JANUARY.   

Cash has had enough of relationships that end up going nowhere.  His New Year’s resolution is to have a new girl each month, and for only a month – he plans to eliminate the uncertainty and disappointment.  When Cash meets Mindy, his resolution goes the way of so many – right out the door.  The telephone booth door in this case.    

Mindy is a woman who’s been alone and untouched, by choice, for a very long time.  But when Cash McLaren comes into the picture, she can’t help herself.  She ends up in his arms, and in a number of other really interesting places.  And, frankly, considering it’s one of the men of the CALENDAR GIRLS, she really doesn’t stand a chance of resisting.  See, those men operate on a single overriding principle.  If she’s the right one, grab her, eliminate all possible rivals, and never, ever let go.  May take some maneuvering, if she thinks about leaving, but Mindy’s not really going anywhere.  Not if Cash has anything to say about it.

Along the way, Mindy and Cash get some help from Bolt Hardin, the hero in MISS OCTOBER.  He’s still my all time favorite out of all the uber-heroes in this series.   This Cupid is much more practical and down to earth than the little guy with the wings, but the result is the same.  When Mindy or Cash have any doubts about what they are doing or stray from the path of true love, Bolt sets them straight with a few well placed directions.  

There’s no other way to say it.  THIS SERIES ROCKS.  From Bolt and Octavia all the way to Mindy and Cash (the 10^th book in the series), Madison Hayes has consistently written sexy, funny and romantic stories.   I waited a long time for this new installment, and I wasn’t disappointed. 

Mindy is a fabulous mix of insecure woman and gutsy heroine, not at all what Cash expected.  Cash is gorgeous, sexy, and not at all what Mindy expected.  But they are perfect for each other, and that’s what makes MISS JANUARY so much fun to read.
