SEQ CHAPTER \h \r 1What
is a vampire to do? Elite Seeker Kenoe Hatsept finally accomplished his most
important goal: get revenge on the man who made his young life a living hell.
So, what now? He goes to Japan, to relax and plan out the rest of his life.
Enter the one person who can mess up each and every one of them. Shinju
Maruyama. She may look like an ordinary school teacher, but looks can be
deceiving. And she’s in trouble. Big trouble. Her brother, Max, is mixed up
with the Vampire world, good and bad, as well as the Yakuza. Shinju tries to
protect everyone while holding her own with Kenoe. Good thing she has that big
sword! This third book in the Vampire Council of Ethics (V.C.O.E.) series is as much fun as the previous two, with some real cliff hangers thrown in for good measure. Shinju is a woman after my own heart. She can cook, she can nurture, and she can kick butt, if need be. And she needs to, because vampires are making her life extremely complicated. Her mate, Kenoe, is the embodiment of “kickass-ivity” and his hunt for rogues places her life in danger. It doesn’t help that both of them are hiding things from the other. Apparently neither aced Relationship 101, because at several points this relationship jumps the track. Shinju teams up with Carin Bixler and Tameth Serati, the other tough heroines from prior V.C.O.E. books, as she learns to navigate Kenoe’s world. In the end, Shinju doesn’t just figure it out, she conquers it. I hope there are more books to come in this series. In fact, I think TJ should think about writing a story for just the women – it would be the wild girl slumber party of all time. If it happens, I want an invite for me!!
