Fiona Blanchard has a talent. Finding. It is her passion and her life. From working with audit teams to locating lost children, nothing escapes her talent. Nothing except the one child she can't find. Wandering from his campsite less than twelve hours before, little Mandy is lost. Fiona joins the searchers to find him, and finds only that the child has been used as bait by an elf who wants her for himself. Seth is freed, but Fiona is imprisoned. She faces unending attempts of courtship and seduction when a strangely attractive man comes to rescue her and is captured in return. Now Fiona is their only way out, but can even she find away to escape from the nut-job who is holding her prisoner and bringing her flowers? Reading this story was like having a glass of bubbly. It was fun, it was light, and it left me wanting just a little bit more. Fiona had a great sense of fun and style, but I couldn’t get a sense of her physical presence, other than she had red hair. Her hero, Ander, is big with dark hair, but the story didn’t provide much beyond that. They are fated mates, but they didn’t do any relationship building beyond the inevitable. The bad guy seemed more inept than evil. In retrospect, I wish the author had written a little more and provided a little more character development. But, despite the shortcomings, this was still a story that I liked. The premise was fun, and it made me want to go back and read the two prior books, so I could fill in a little more of the background. |
