Noah Andrews and Chance Mercer, wolf shapeshifters, have been Rogue Hunters for half their lives, traveling constantly while looking for their Mate. They’ve actually been dreaming of her for more than 10 years. When they are sent to Serenity to help with a Rogue hunt, they find her – Sera Serveti. Sera has been on the run for years, trying to avoid the baddest of the bad guys. When Noah and Chance find her, Sera gets ready to run again, but her Mates are having no part of that. They will chase her, mate her, and protect her, while doing battle with the bad guy. Or bad guys, as the case may be. I will remember Sera Serveti for a long time – in fact, she gets a special bookmark all her own. She is smart, strong, sassy and perfectly capable of taking care of herself. She works it with plenty of attitude, whether in high heels or work boots. And, when her Mates show up, you can bet that she makes them jump through hoops – lots of hoops – to have a relationship with her. Noah and Chance are smokin’ hot Alpha males, committed to mating Sera. At first, I wondered how two equally dominant males could share a mate. I wondered that until I watched them work together to win Sera and to protect her. They are still individuals, with their own unique personalities, but they are also a single unit with a single imperative – win their mate. Handled less skillfully, the two of them could have been bullies with a biological imperative. Instead, they are committed to persuading her to be their mate, both as men and wolves. If that means revealing a soft underbelly, then that’s what they will do. My only quarrel with this story is that it is a bit too short. I would have liked to have seen the book go longer, particularly so I could have seen more of the developing relationship between Sera, Noah and Chance. After reading SERVING SERA, I definitely recommend going back and reading the previous three books in this series. I hope the other heroines are as memorable as Sera is.
